Each year more and more people gather in D.C. to bring awareness to the third most common neurological disorder in the United States—epilepsy. The National Walk for Epilepsy has grown to an event with 8,000 participants and, over the span of two years, has raised more than $2 million dollars. Consider supporting the event today by registering to participate, making a donation, or join Greg's team; Jake's Crazy Brainwaves
At the 2008 Walk more than 400 teams were formed and those individuals helped bring awareness to the condition. Team Laura raised more than $5,000 so that one day parents like Larry and Cynthia will no longer have to witness their child experience infantile spasms. Cynthia remarked, "What we've been through was made imminently easier through the support we received from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, LLP and Holland & Knight in the formation of Team Laura."
That was why Team Laura walked. With your help and support we can let the world know why we walk.
We walk because we want to educate…
We walk because we want to empower…
We walk because we want to encourage…
We walk so that not another moment is lost to seizures.
Greg Grunberg, the star of the hit show Heroes, has a real-life hero—his son who has epilepsy. He has become such a strong ally of the Epilepsy Foundation and is joining us to help raise awareness and money for a cure. So, please join him and his family in supporting the Walk, and making it the single most successful event for education and awareness in the 40-year history of the Epilepsy Foundation.
